If you have a hectic lifestyle, eating on the go or grabbing convenience foods can play havoc with your meal plan. Here are some simple ideas to help you stay on track.

Eat your meals

Don't skip meals – it will leave you open to overeating later or eating overindulgent snacks.

Make a list

Plan your meals for the week and make a shopping list so you only buy what you need and don't get tempted by other things.

Exercise in the morning

If you can exercise before work – it means it's out of the way for the rest of the day!

Plan ahead

Prepare for hectic days by having a few healthy meals prepared and stored in the freezer in case you're too busy to cook. A couple of bags of frozen veggies can also help when you're cooking with little time.

Plan to snack

If you know you're going to be out and about, plan your snacks instead of getting something on the go. Pack a piece of fruit or a portioned controlled snack!

Make smart choices

If you are eating while you're out – choose the lower fat options. Try and substitute things on the menu if need be – like baked potato instead of fries or chips, or Caesar salad without the dressing.
